Welcome to the Wool Legion …
We are one of the largest clubs in the area with around 600 members, it started in a different part of the village in a hall next to the Ship Inn but soon became apparent we needed a larger venue, moving to this site in 1972 to what only can be described as a wooded hut with a piano and small bar area, things were soon underway to start building what we have today and with more extensions added over the years we are now the biggest venue in the Village including a huge free car park, enabling us to be able to offer our members and local surrounding villages and companies a relaxed fun safe environment for all to enjoy.
The club has 3 bar areas; the main bar which includes the skittle alley (which is covered when not in use), 4 dart boards, a large raised stage area, a lovely wooden dance floor and ample seating for over 150 plus. It really is a fantastic venue for a party (large or small) or even a meeting area.
The lounge bar is also a large area, with seating for around 30 people; it has a door way leading to a huge patio area with the memorial rose gardens.
A sports bar is located at the opposite end of the club providing pool table, dart board and ample seating for spectators and relaxation.
All of the above areas can be serviced by the kitchen which is one of the newer additions to the club.
Our main supplier of drinks is from Molson Coors who offer us a great service at competitive prices which in turn means we can offer you, our members, named brands at good prices.
On the bar at the moment we serve Carling Extra Cold and Hop House 13, with John Smiths, Worthington and Doombar as the draught beers, Thatcher’s Gold and Thatcher’s Haze as cider and Guinness.
We also sell bottled Beer, lager and fruit ciders alongside a well stocked variety of spirits,shots and large selection of wines and if your not in the mood for alcohol then we’ve got a variety of soft drinks including non-alcoholic beer, tea or coffee.
